General information:
Brazil nuts are originally from Brazil. Brazil nut trees are now increasingly found in the tropical jungles of northern Bolivia. The Brazil nut owes its name to the port city of Para on the Amazon, from where it was exported as early as the 17th century. Century was exported to Europe. Brazil nuts have a high fat content, but since these are unsaturated fatty acids, they are healthy when consumed in moderation. Another special feature of the Brazil nut is the high proportion of selenium, which in turn strengthens the immune system and detoxifies the body. In this country, Brazil nuts are particularly popular during the Christmas season and it is hard to imagine the classic "trail mix" nut mix without them.
